  1. J.Goodwin says:

Marvel already has their own all-you-can read digital comics service has had for four or five years.

The library is always six months old, but that’s a hell of a library, especially if you’re already a trade-waiter, ten bucks a month is kind of hard to turn down. Sounds like it is really successful for them too, especially in the demo that avoids a lot of comic shops because they had bad experiences or otherwise just don’t feel comfortable, or maybe don’t even have a comic shop in their area (let’s be honest, like half of comic shops are awesome and run by awesome people, and then there’s like 10% of them that are always full of assholes 100% of the time. And then there are the random bad experiences people sometimes have, I literally had a guy yell me out of his shop once because I didn’t immediately say I was having a great day, I don’t know how businesses run like that, even if it only happens 1% of the time).

I couldn’t find any evidence that DC has any interest in selling an unlimited subscription on their digital comics website. What a surprise.

Wait, what? Dude yelled at you for not having a great day?? Whaaaaa?

I tried the Marvel Unlimited subscription for awhile to see what all the hub-bubbery was about, but honestly, I don’t enjoy reading my comics on a device. I like the back-lit option for reading at night, but that hurts my eyes. Especially since I look at a computer screen too much as it is, it just really wears my eyes out.
