I am so stoked because you read my comment on the air! I am toys r us site down. I didn’t write that though, I posted as my regular Homer self and cyber space gave me a new nom de plume! It’s my third time getting on air at Poptards! Merry Christmas to me!

But No, don’t review We Stand on Guard again, since you have said enough. You’re right. Review Fight Club 2 instead. It’s so major that Pahlaniuk wrote his sequel in graphic form instead of another novel, and it’s really really good. Twisted, funny, intellectual, violent, social commentary galore: Everything that made the first one great. My only quibble is that the artist draws his faces too much the same and I actually get confused once in a while as to which character is talking if they don’t have distinct hairstyles.

RE: Archie. I could throw up because my LCS told me the last issue of Sabrina, which was awesome, is never going to be released. Probably because Archie Comics doesn’t want to be scary anymore, they want everyone to focus on the new Archie and Jughead. I realized 2 issues ago that Waid is way too old to write Archie, and only stuck around to see what the Lipstick Incident was. All your comments were dead on, and Im off this book.

PS: Bug, Bug, Bug: You had to say it. You had to say “why can’t they make new characters instead of changing the old ones.” Aargh! That’s why the other email you read was giving you shit. Don’t you guys agree that the reason Marvel and DC don’t create new characters is because they don’t want new characters, they want brand recognition, and creators don’t want to give the Big 2 any new characters because then the company owns the character. That’ why Image was created in the first place.

    Happy Holidays!!!!

If I make up new names for myself, will you read me on air more often?

Hey Poptardians, I tried to leave this as a voicemail but it kept giving me a microphone error. My mic appears to be working fine, so I’m not sure what’s up with that. Your shit might be broken.

I had a couple questions for you all.

First off, I wanted to know if any of you continue to buy any comics simply out of habit, because you’ve been collecting them for so long? As I was looking at the ridiculous amount of comics on my pull list, I realized that I continue to buy several titles each month, that I don’t even like anymore. I’ve been collecting Batman, Justice League, and Suicide Squad since issue 1 of the New 52 reboot. While I did like them and appreciate them at one time, they do absolutely nothing for me now. I somehow can’t stop buying them though – probably because I’m just used to it each month. Do you guys have any comics you buy but don’t like? (That question was directed more towards Jd and Douche, since Bug doesn’t like anything.)

My second question for you guys – Are there any books out there that are either highly acclaimed, or very popular sales-wise, but you just don’t see what the hype is all about? I’m sure a lot of people will disagree with me, but I personally think that “Saga” is kind of overrated. People treat it like it’s the best comic out there, but I just find it kind of “meh”. I find everything about that comic extremely average.

Anyway, that was it. Thank you for entertaining me every week! Keep up the great job, guys.

P.S. Did you guys read “Venom Space Knight”? Not bad overall. I really liked the art of Ariel Olivetti. (Siiiiiiiiiiii!!!) He uses a very nice painted style, much like Filipe Andrade (Siiiiiiiiiiiiii!). Olivetti (Siiiii!) is one of my favorite current artists, along with Carlos Pacheco (Siiii!), Paco Medina (Siiii!), and Carmine Di Giandomenico (Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!).

    Sorry Jd. =)

@homer That’s weird, sorry about the Toys R Us name thing. I think we’re going to discuss WSoG on this week’s show, since it’s just wrapping up!

That sucks about Archie, those creepy series were awesome!
