Time to counter all the high praise to kick off the show to stop your heads from swelling. 46 minutes and 4 books? Where’s the rest of the show?

  2. TRolland says:

Yea these guys suck more often than not, its mainly that hack Optimus Douche’s fault.

  3. Roland says:

    Whoa Trolland, take it easy.

  4. Mazer Rackham says:

    Nom nom nom…

  5. JD (Host) says:

@Paul : Honestly, Bug was driving all day and wasn’t able to read all the books, which is understandable, and then I figured the voicemails and email would take up more time. I like when the show is shorter and sweeter and doesn’t overstay its welcome, actually.

    @TROLLand, you JERK.

@Roland: Thanks for sticking up for us! Trolland seems like a real toolface.

  6. JD (Host) says:

@Mazer: I know I know!!! lol….(I do try to edit out the chewing noises in post, but hey, brother’s gotta eat!)

  7. Homer Sexual says:

Thanks for the Airboy talk. I wouldn’t have picked it up otherwise. But I loved it. Robinson’s woes really seem to have improved his writing, because I have never really liked anything he has written before. I read an entire huge collection of Starman wanting to like it, but never did. All of his work has been… ok, not really involving to me. But Airboy is super interesting and real. Very adult, and who cares about the nudity. Also, I am super sensitive about how people are portrayed and I didn’t see any negative portrayal of transgender here. They are shown in the same light as everyone else, for better or for worse, and that is the best way to show anyone from any group.

  8. Mazer Rackham says:

    S’all good.

Would love for you guys to hit some throwback stuff, like the awesome 80s runs of ROM and Ka-Zar. I still have all 12 issues of Squadron Supreme. But I’m old.

  9. Homer Sexual says:

OMG The 12 issue Squadron Supreme by Gruenwald is incredibly awesome!!!! I have always held that as one of my all-time favorites. And I tried to get my car’s plate to say Ka-Zar in college in 1986 (it was taken).

  10. Mazer Rackham says:

So, I’m an old school comics guy, but I’m currently reading the Earth 2: World’s End TPB and I can’t make heads nor tails of it. Is it just really badly written or is this just the new age of comics where old guys like me (45) just don’t know what the fuck is going on?

    ROM! Ka-Zar! 80s Daredevil! HELP!

  11. JD (Host) says:

@Homer I remember loving Starman when it was coming out, and I’ve always wanted to go back and re-read it, but just haven’t had the chance. And I hoped I would like his Earth 2 stuff, but it just wasn’t for me. It felt over-written.

I could see why people would be offended by the transgender portrayal, due to the only act they are shown doing and AirBoy’s reaction to them, but I feel like it’s balanced out by the main characters’ indifference.

@Mazer I’ve actually never read ROM or Ka-Zar! What do you think of the new VENOM: SPACEKNIGHT title that is coming down the pike? As for World’s End, sadly I think if you weren’t reading Earth 2 since the beginning of the N52, it’s confusing. A lot of the characters are very different from what you knew.
