So today I realized maybe you guys are as trapped in amber as the comics you rall against. You use Matt Murdock as a character who has evolved. How? He moved? Whoop de doo. His secret identity is known/not known, etc. He, like most comics, always resets to more or less status quo.

I was dumbfounded when Douche said he found Deadpool intersting when he was given a daughter and a backstory. That is exactly when Deadpool went to hell. As a comic, I mean, and not in a good way. The last thing I wanted to read about was Deadpool as a dad, etc. That’s exactly when I stopped reading a book I had previously loved.

So more to my point, you guys tend to not like the comics that are different. Listening to you bitch about Squirrel Girl made me think of how you hated Harley Quinn, and then Douche even says Squirrel Girl is as bad as Harley Quinn. And you hated Ms. Marvel. Ms. Marvel and Harley Quinn are top selling comics so obviously a lot of people like them. And when my friends read my comics, Harley is the most popular of any Marvel or DC book. I think you need a woman or a gay guy on your panel (hint hint).

PS: I only bought Ant Man because I have a friend who’se a broke ass college freshman who loves everything related to Marvel Movies, so I bought it for him. I was delighted that it was, indeed, in the spirit of Superior Foes of Spider-Man. So what if Lang is Boomerang? Previously Lang a a boring ass character.

Finally, I have let go of any concerns about continuity or character over time. Nowadays the only way to really enjoy a comic is to base it on a run by whatever creative team and not worry about what came before or after. Much like, before he died, you could pick which version of Wolverine you liked and just read that book. I hated daddy Wolverine as headmaster, for example. So don’t read that.

I reamember getting mad because Civil War had heroes acting out of character. And when I was mad that Bendis had Wanda go nuts and kill everyone, I was told to ignore it and re-read my old Avengers issues when she took down Ultron, etc. At the time, that advice irritated me, but now it’s my mantra.

No one is sacred. Nothing is canon. Liike it or not, thats how it is.

oh hey…remember how I LOVE Ms. Marvel? And Captain Marvel? How I was the one defending Squirrel Girl? I am the woman/gay guy you want on the panel, lol
