First of all, Bug congrats on coming out against speciest actions, such as forcing Captain Carrot to eat carrots as well as making him wear one on his chest. Hey I did that without laughing too much so that was good. I agree with Optimous that Multiversity is bad, I got my money back, because Diamond had shorted the store and others really wanted this Morrison Monstrosity. I really hope it gets better and that this and Futures End doesnt ruin DC’s books, otherwise I can see me saving lots of money as I can take like 52 books off of the pull list. Someone needs to go the Windy City and get Bug to stop drinking the Morrison-aide, Futures End and Multiversity are going to crunch like cars at a bad corner, there is no plan here to take us forward. I liked Titans, I really liked Delinquents, and Matt please let us know next week more about your map investigation. Also stop discouraging Matt, he can be a Hobo if he wants, and I can make alot of money with my documentary about how Poptards made a successful married man with a job into a Hobo and how after 6 months he tries to make it back to the real world. Also you bring up Liefeld in the podcast and didnt bring up my new effort (mentioned on this website) to figure out if Liefeld has real feet.

  2. Sorry, RobLie and are Twitter buddies, he started following me after I dropped this gem on the Internets: http://robpatey.com/2012/09/09/deathstroke-0-review-rob-liefeld-spits-in-the-face-of-god/

Bug does not know the definition of the word racism, so we’re working with him to understand that calling someone human isn’t racist.

  3. Tigger11 says:

You write that gorgeous review of Liefeldisms and yet aren’t going to join the effort Optimous? Really? People want to know, does Rob drop feet so poorly and incorrectly because his are somehow different. I mean seriously I would not be surprised to find out his feet were super tiny or had extra toes (ala Marilyn Monroe) or that he wears those skate shoes all the time (which would explain why people dont bend the ankles or seem to walk normally in his books). Come on start tagging things with #DoesLiefeldhavefeet or something and we will get to the bottom of this really quick, America has the right to know :)

  4. Emiiano Feliberti says:

Teen Titans #002 – You guys are absolutely right. Giving center stage to Bunker (up to this point, a totally uninteresting character) when they have other (much stronger) characters around could be a mistake. I am willing to stick around for the next couple of issues ’cause I have loved the Teen Titans for many years (specially the Wolfman/Perez run), but not for long. So far, after a half-way promising first issue, this series is starting to look as bad as the last one. We’ll just have to see.

  5. Emiliano Feliberti says:

Supreme Blue Rose #001-#001 – Just got this (love Ellis) and read it while admiring the art (beautiful) but, seriously…wat the hell is this supposed to be about? “Trees” lost me a couple of issues ago. Is the same thing going to happen again? I wonder if Ellis still got it…

  6. Emiliano Feliberti says:

Anyone else getting a lot of SPAM coming from some of the old comments on this site?

  7. Unsubscribe from that thread EmF, and you will no longer have to help support an entire village a world away with your clicks.

Your words are too dense Tigger, distill down to an Executive Summary please this Liefeld assault.

  8. Tigger11 says:

I’m a scientist by trade, so we have a fact:
Fact: Liefeld draws feet poorly as well acting as if he doesnt know how they work

    We have Theory

Theory: Liefeld draws feet poorly because of some issue with his own feet/shoes/ankles etc.

Now we need data to prove or disprove this theory.

What kind of data you might ask? Pictures of his feet or even better pictures or video of him walking.

I think the theory has merit and really should be resolved. :)

  9. JD (Host) says:

Yes, Emiliano, I go through and delete them all out of the threads on a daily basis, but to be honest, I have NO IDEA HOW TO STOP THEM! it’s infuriating. I appreciate you coming here despite that annoyance :)

As for Bunker, I have no problem with them building up new characters, it’s just going to take me awhile to care about them. At least he doesn’t seem to be suffering from the cliched dialogue and exclamations that he was having problems with in the last series.

I stopped reading Trees a couple issues back as well. Maybe I’ll catch up it I hear it’s gotten interesting, or if we decide to do it on the show.

PS. Someone used the giant stupid pink banner to leave us a voicemail!
I expect some from you guys too! 😉

  10. Tigger11 says:

I don’t think I have a microphone hooked to the home computer at the moment but I am wondering if I could get it to work with the iPad. I’ll try that tomorrow if you get no audio on a clip I apologize in advance JD.

  11. Your idea will take too much time and effort Tig. Just check out my Twitter stream from yesterday for some guerrilla Liefeld discussion.

  12. RolandDeschain says:

Lol Douche, My Mommy was Killed by Inking and Driving. I was wondering, what would Bug do if he ever encountered his Black Bug from Earth-Black(dont know the number)?

  13. def says:

It’s a delight to hear you talk about all that’s wrong with DC. I don’t want to be a source of schadenfreude, but they suck in all sorts of ways, and I can’t even be bothered to illegally download their stuff. It’s just pure meh.

To give them credit where it’s due, that new Batgirl looks like it will actually be fun to read! Babs Tarr is a super solid as a pictorial artist, and with Cameron Stewart laying it out for her, there is a 90% chance of her absolutely killing it. I can’t figure out why the company would do that at all, since it’s not dour and glum. Maybe it’s plan z.

Also, Douche, have you tuned into this? http://www.rachelandmiles.com/xmen/
It’s all sorts of good. I’ve listened to 14 episodes in the last week. My first X-Men comic was 129 (at age 5) and the second, 200 (at age 10), whereupon I got into Classic X-Men comics, and bought the then affordable back issues, so hearing lively discussions of all of that stuff, plus new continuity here and there… man, it’s like having a conversation with friends I don’t have (even when I was young, my geek buddies were more into Spider-man and Batman, strangely, despite X-Men being the number one book for so long).

  14. Tigger11 says:

Thanks for the point to the other podcast. Listening to them now.

  15. Jaydee says:

sounds like it’s a show about classic X-men issues?
anyone have a recommendation for a Spidey version of that?

  16. RolandDeschain says:

    only in your dreams JD.

  17. Tigger11 says:

Now JD if there were such a show (and I agree it would be cool), you would get mad about show 5 when it was titled “The Death of Gwen Stacy, Peters worst girlfriend” and stop listening to it :)

  18. def says:

    Cheers, Tig, enjoy!

It’s about X-Men, so it’s starting with a rush through the Silver Age, and then going chronologically from Giant Size X-Men 1. So, considering how many monthly books have come out since the 80’s, they should have content for at least 30 years before they get caught up to current continuity.

The last episode covered the first Brood saga, which I’m in need of a reread. I’ve reread the Byrne era stuff in the last few years, but it’s been a while since I read the Paul Smith stuff (and I only have them in Essential X-Men versions now… I should never have sold my originals… Essential books aren’t so fun to read)

Anyway, you really really could do a history of Spider-Man podcast. At least to issue 260 or so, whenever Roger Stern left, I’d be super down with it. After that, it would at least be fun to hear about whatever wackadoo stuff happened (I never read it, but I heard about the secret baby he lost, that would make for a good podcast). A gap in the market for a rabid Spider-Fan!

  19. RolandDeschain says:

any of you boys indulge in the #Fappening? Bug I’m looking at you

  20. JD (Host) says:

lol, Bug had no idea, Matt and I clued him in…

  21. JD (Host) says:

I do feel bad for the gals involved. I understand that one shouldn’t be surprised that this happens, but it’s still unfortunate.
